Terms of Service

Effective May 11, 2026

۞

These terms govern your use of Boshra — our website at boshra.ai, our iOS application, and any related services we offer (together, the "Service"). Please read them carefully. By using the Service, you agree to these terms.

Who we are

"Boshra," "we," "our," and "us" refer to the team that builds and operates the Service. You can reach us at salaam@boshra.ai.

Who can use Boshra

Boshra is designed to be used by children, typically with the involvement of a parent or guardian. If you are under the age of majority in your country, you may only use the Service with the consent and supervision of a parent or guardian who agrees to these terms on your behalf.

By creating an account for a child, the parent or guardian confirms that they have read these terms and our Privacy Policy and accept them on the child's behalf.

Your account

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials safe and for the activity that happens under your account. If you suspect your account has been accessed without your permission, write to us at salaam@boshra.ai and we'll help.

Acceptable use

Boshra exists to help families memorize the Quran. Please use it for that purpose, and not in ways that harm the Service or others. Specifically, you agree not to:

  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or circumvent the security of the Service.
  • Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the Service in a way that places unreasonable load on it.
  • Resell or commercially redistribute the Service or any content inside it that is not your own.
  • Use the Service to harass, defame, or harm anyone, or to upload content that is unlawful or that infringes someone else's rights.

Quran text and recitation

The text of the Quran is the eternal word of Allah and is not owned by us or by anyone. Where Boshra displays the Quranic text, we use widely-distributed source files and follow recognized recitation conventions. We have done our best to verify correctness, but you should always defer to a qualified teacher or a trusted printed muṣḥaf for matters of accuracy. If you spot an error in our text, please tell us at salaam@boshra.ai and we will correct it.

Recitation audio that we record from third-party reciters is used under license or in line with the terms under which it was made available, and remains the property of the reciter or its rights-holder.

Your content

Anything your child records inside the app — their recitation, their progress, their notes — belongs to your family. We do not claim ownership of it. We process it only to operate the Service as described in our Privacy Policy.

Boshra's content

The Boshra app, website, design system, and original written content (such as our journal posts) are owned by us and are protected by copyright and other laws. You may not copy or redistribute them without our permission, except as the law allows (for example, fair use or fair dealing in your jurisdiction).

Subscriptions and payments

Boshra offers a free tier that covers the core memorization loop. Some features may be offered as a paid subscription. If you subscribe through the Apple App Store, the subscription is managed by Apple under Apple's terms — you can review and cancel it at any time in your Apple account settings. Refunds are handled by Apple in line with Apple's refund policy.

The Service is provided as-is

We work hard to make Boshra reliable and useful, but the Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we make no warranties — express or implied — about the Service, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

Boshra is a practice aid. It does not replace a teacher. We do not warrant that the tajweed feedback or memorization scheduling will be free of mistakes, and we strongly encourage every learner to study with a qualified qārī or teacher.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither Boshra nor the individuals who build it will be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) one hundred US dollars.

Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law.

Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. You may close your account by writing to salaam@boshra.ai from the email associated with the account.

We may suspend or terminate access if these terms are seriously or repeatedly broken, or if we are required to do so by law. Where practical, we will tell you why and give you a chance to put things right first.

Changes to the Service and to these terms

We are a small team, and the Service will change over time. We may add features, remove features, or stop offering the Service entirely. If we make a material change to these terms, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Boshra is operated, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that cannot be resolved by writing to us at salaam@boshra.ai will be brought in the courts of that jurisdiction, unless your local consumer-protection law gives you the right to bring it elsewhere.
